Happy Holidays! December is a busy month at EMCC! Come to our FREE Spa Night on Monday, December 9th from 3:30-7:30pm, swap cookies with your neighbors on Monday, December 16th from 4-6pm, check out our kids’ film debut at the Madison Children’s Museum on Tuesday, December 17th, or just come and volunteer to spread the holiday spirit!
Thanks to everyone who helped make the 17th Annual Bowlathon a HUGE success! With your help, we raised over $26,000 to support our Academic Improvement through Minority Mentors Program!
Join us for our 17th Annual Bowlathon at Dream Lanes on Saturday, November 2 from noon – 3 p.m. (See attached flyer.) Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Academic Improvement with Minority Mentors (AIMM) program. Through the supportive relationships fostered between youth and staff, AIMM teaches low income children solid study habits, improves performance in math and reading, engages students in critical thinking processes, introduces students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programming, and instills academic confidence in over 150 minority youth annually. AIMM also works with students to improve “soft” skills (anger management, social interactions, personal hygiene, self-confidence, etc.), which help keep them in class more instead of being removed from the classroom due to behavior issues.
You can support the work of the AIMM program by bowling or forming a bowling team, supporting bowlers, or providing a corporate sponsorship (see attached documents).
If you have any questions, call the Center at 249-0861 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
